Ingredients – Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal Bar
Here’s a quick list of ingredients for making Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal Bar. For a complete list and measurements, see the recipe card below!
- Unsalted butter – I used unsalted but use whatever you have on hand
- Mini marshmallows, save a few to add as a mix-in – Make sure you have fresh marshmallows, stale ones will make it less gooey.
- Vanilla extract – I sometimes sub vanilla extract with vanilla bean paste
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal – In this economy I am using store brand, but use what ever brand you like!
- Optional: Cinnamon chips – I have heard from so many people these are hard to find, I will link them here, but I did find mine at my local grocery store, not walmart or target!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Next, do you need some help making these delicious cereal bars? Here’s a detailed breakdown. For the full instructions, check out the recipe card below!
- Prepare the Pan – Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray. Line with parchment paper, making sure extra hangs over two sides. Set aside.
- Melt the Butter and Marshmallows – In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over medium-low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until you have a smooth, melted marshmallow mixture.
- Add Flavorings – Stir in the vanilla extract and salt into the melted marshmallow mixture. Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.
- Combine with Cereal – In a large bowl, add the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Pour the cooled marshmallow mixture over the cereal. Add the optional cinnamon chips and a few extra marshmallows. Gently fold the cereal into the marshmallow mixture until all the cereal is evenly coated. Let it cool slightly.
- Transfer and Press – Quickly transfer the cereal mixture into the prepared baking pan. Using a greased rubber spatula or your hands (lightly greased), press the mixture evenly into the pan. Be careful not to press too hard to keep the treats from becoming too dense.
- Add Toppings and Cool – For a gooey look, add more marshmallows and cinnamon chips to the top. Allow the treats to cool completely in the pan at room temperature, about 1 hour. Once cooled, cut into squares or desired shapes.
